Measure 'Rise' for Jeans

Jeans are a wardrobe staple for many people, myself included. As someone who is on the shorter side and has a curvier figure, finding jeans that fit properly can be a challenge. Especially after two c-section surgeries, I developed a sensitivity around the vertical incision scar which sometimes rubbed against a button or zipper of the jeans. Therefore, getting the proper rise measurement is especially important for me.

When it comes to my personal style, I prefer a mid-rise or high-rise jean that sits at or above my natural waist. I find that this provides the most comfort and support while also flattering my figure. I also prefer jeans made from high-quality denim with some stretch, as this allows for ease of movement while still maintaining their shape.

For someone with a curvier figure, a higher rise can help prevent any unwanted muffin top or bulging, while also providing more coverage and support. However, a higher rise can also make my legs appear shorter, so finding the right balance is key.

When shopping for jeans, I always make sure to measure the rise and take into account my body type and personal style. I also pay attention to the material and stretch of the jeans, as this can greatly affect how they fit and feel. Don't be afraid to try on different styles and materials until you find the perfect fit.
